Don’t worry; we’re not about to launch into a full blown science lesson! In fact, it’s actually very simple. If you exercise a muscle, it gets stronger. That really is all there is to it. Stronger pelvic floor muscles mean powerful, long-lasting erections, improved bowel/bladder control, better prostate health and enhanced sexual performance.
2005 saw the publication of the most comprehensive study ever conducted on the effects of pelvic muscle exercises on men in the British Journal of Urology International. The results were overwhelming; with 76% of men experiencing a significant improvement in their erectile function.
Strengthening the pelvic muscles may result in:
- Powerful/long-lasting erections
- Enhanced sexual performance
- Intense orgasms and more forceful ejaculation
- Reduction and prevention of bladder weakness
- Reduction or prevention of prostate inflammation
- Increased blood flow to the penis
Decades of Research
Based on the findings of Dr. Arnold Kegel, the Private Gym has taken the concept of strengthening the pelvic floor through exercise and applied it to men.
In the 1940s, Dr. Arnold Kegel discovered that simple pelvic floor exercise could be performed as a way of preparing women for pregnancy and childbirth. In addition to this increased support during labour, these exercises have also been found to significantly improve sexual function and treat the varying forms of bladder/bowel weakness. For decades now, doctors and medical professionals have been recommending them to women everywhere.
However, when it comes to men, strengthening our pelvic floor is all too often something that is overlooked. This seems odd considering that it is of parallel importance. A strong pelvic floor is vital for maintaining a healthy bladder and bowel, not to mention the important role it plays for sexual function. Additionally, pelvic floor exercise can help to keep our prostate healthy. Now, thanks to the Private Gym, there is a simple, safe and effective way for us to perform our Kegels too.
